As the title says… the podcast/BlogCast has finally been released! Go out and grab it/check it out!
Check it out & tell me what you guys think.
I am currently trying to get my show in the iTunes Store, but in the mean time, go to this link and click the iTunes logo to subscribe.
Welcome to the year 2008 everybody… please keep all of your body parts out of the vehicle at all time while the ride is in motion.
Okay, that was lame. Alright, so anyways, what’s up everybody? Have a nice Christmas… holidays… new years, or whatever? I for the most part did… other than the fact than Kmart made me work a crap load of hours and I didn’t get too much time off.
Oh yeah! I didn’t mention… I got a new job… finally! I put in an application to a grocery story right around the corner from my house called “Giant (Food Stores)” and two days later I got a call for an interview! How do ya like that… well, I did. I’m gonna finally be making a decent amount of money, $7.40 an hour instead of $7.25 (and with no raises in sight). At Giant, every 60 days you get an extra $0.20, which is awesome.
Anyways, as I mentioned Version 2.0 of this blog is coming, and I am going to follow through on that promise. I am currently getting everything ready now to get a podcast/blogcast up and running for you guys. I am still debating right now on the frequency of the show, seeing as it is a BlogCast I will be blogging on it as well as podcasting, so I need it to be fairly regular. I’m currently leaning towards every other day, something like Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or something like that then have either Saturday or Sunday have the big show. Not really positive yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out.
Now, I’m sorry its taking so long to get this podcast up, but I am currently in the process of redoing my sound studio which is where I’ll be recording everything, so everything got a little delayed. I was hoping for my first show to be on January 1, 2008, but that didn’t seem to happen. I know it will be a little late, but I am still going to do a recap on my show about my favorite things from 2o07.
One last thing, I finally made myself a new image for the blog. The old one was getting kinda… well… old. So hope you like it.
Alright, so I think I just about covered everything.
Until then… I’m out.
Hey what’s up everybody. I am very sorry I didn’t really get to follow through with really anything I said I was going to with updating and everything. Between my job constantly needing me because they’re so desperate and school and life in general… its been a complete mess. I am now in the process of trying to find a new job as I speak… shhh! Don’t tell!
Anyways, I have some pretty awesome stuff planned for the new year. I’m calling it version 2.0. Let’s face it… version 1.0 pretty much sucked… I’ll admit that myself. I never updated or anything. It was pretty much worthless because no one ever knew when to check up on my blog. Am I right?
So here’s what I’m gonna be trying to do. Sooner or later I want to get a live camera going for you guys, which will be something I like to call… SchizoPunkGeek.tv, but here’s the problem… COMCAST! I have tried this type of thing before on Justin.tv and they have throttled my bandwidth like cRaZy! I have perfect download speeds… but when it comes to uploading (or in this case, streaming), I just can’t do it. I have everyone complaining to me that its either slow as crap or just not working at all.
So now that we now that live broadcasting is TEMPORARILY out of the question, what else can I do? Well, before I got really sick over the summer and had to go to the hospital, I had a podcast I was doing. It was the “Almost There BlogCast”. I am most likely going to be trying to go back to making a podcast again. It will be me talking about some technology stories, what I’m liking on Digg, what’s going on in my life, some behind the scenes with my band, and whatever I feel like talking about at the time. I think it’ll be a lot of fun.
Now I’m gonna throw this one out there now and I’ll see if I have any takers on it. I am gonna open up to anyone who wants to be on the podcast with me. What I’d be doing is be recording it through Skype, so you’ll need a computer microphone to participate (preferably not a really bad quality one either). So if anyone is open to helping me out, just leave me a comment or something and we’ll figure something out.
So yeah, new year… new blog… new podcast. Hopefully it’ll be good this time. Version 2.0.
Alright, I’m gonna get going for now. Maybe I’ll try updating a little more before the new year to get a feel for it… I guess we’ll see, huh?
Until then… I’m out!
Yeah, I know I said I was gonna be getting started up on everything on this blog, but things just keep coming up on me and making it harder and harder to do.
On top of that I’ve been sick with a cold which doesn’t make things any easier.
Anyways, I hope to get everything up and running here as soon as possible.
Sorry for the delay.
As most of you out there probably know already, I am a musician…. a musician that is in a band known as Almost There to be exact.
Well, I am finally getting myself back into the swing of everything again musically, and I saw that a dude on PunkDisasters, a site and forum I am very actively on, named Alecohol, had put up a piano cover of the Angels & Airwaves song, Lifeline, off of their newly released album, I-Emipre. He pretty much left the track open to everyone to cover or whatever if they wanted as long as they gave him credit. So I took a shot at it.
Of course, as you can see by the title, I am not completely finished yet, but I just couldn’t wait to get a clip out there to show you all how it is sounding… it is FREAKING INSANE! I love it! I’m pretty sure you guys will too! Check it out!
Unfortunately, right now I have no webspace, hence no server to put the song onto, so I had to upload it to MediaFire instead so you guys can go ahead and download it from there.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy it!
Be sure to go and check out my band over at www.AlmostThereMusic.com.
Okay, just a quick update on my previous blog post entitled, “Save Your Ears. Stop Auto Playing.”
I would like you guys to know everything is still going well with the concept of everything, but I have a slight change now with my methods.
Here is what I have changed…
Instead of using the Firefox Extension, “Stop Autoplay (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1765)”, I have now switched over to “Flashblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433)”.
The main reason for this switch is because I took advantage of what “Stop Autoplay” did and took it to the extreme and now I have “Flashblock” blocking all the flash advertisements for me as well. All I have to do to activate anything flash on a website is simply click on it.
That’s all for this update, hope this helped.
Until then… I’m out!
I have finally updated my theme for a change! I was starting to get pretty sick and tired of the previous… dark & scary theme, so I decided to go with a more happy, wintery looking theme this time. I hope you guys like it!
Actually… what are your thoughts on it? That’s what comments are for!
I seriously need to keep this thing updated, don’t I? What’s a blog without updated content? I mean seriously…. I don’t think I’m really going to draw anyone’s attention if I don’t keep this thing up to date.
I think one problem that I am having is that I am trying to hard to avoid talking about myself and what’s going on in my life. I have the feeling that no one really cares, when really, I bet you guys would at least be semi-interested. After all, I did have my life streaming on Justin.tv for a while last summer, which I plan to start doing again shortly by the way, and people seemed to be interested in watching that.
What’s you guys’ opinions? Should what kind of content interests you? Leave me a comment… I need to hear from you. I never seem to get any comments ever, which, frankly, sucks. Here I am trying to reach out to you guys and get you guys involved and I’m not getting anything back.
Yeah, I’ve heard it all before… “I’m not a leaving comments kind of person… I just read it…” Don’t be that guy. C’mon! Even if its just telling me you enjoyed the segment, that’s all I want to hear. Give a man a little encouragement. Just a little couldn’t hurt… could it?
I have one last thing I wanna get in motion with this blog, something I’ve been considering to make it a little more interesting. I’m thinking of having some segments, like some weekly kind of things. Not exactly sure how to explain it, but here are some topics I’m thinking of (names may vary)…
Sunday – Recommend a Website
Monday – Inform the public about something geeky I know, but they don’t
Tuesday – Music Pick
Wednesday – Hardware Pick of the Week
Thursday – Tech Topic
Friday – Whatever I want day (Pick anything… its Friday!)
Saturday – Recommend a Program
I still gotta think about everything, but everyday I wanna have something special planned out or something. Hopefully that would give everyone something to look forward to. I hope to get this started next week (starting this Monday, November 26, 2007).
Okay well, that should do it for me. Once again, I really wanna see a dramatic increase in the amount of comments I get this time. C’mon, I know you can do this!
Until then… I’m out!
Okay, maybe I’m just pulling this idea out of my butt, but I was brainstorming on ways to make a better blog and I was thinking about maybe having some video segments. Like… video blogging, but not, I guess. I mean, I could summarize my day or something in a video and post it here or something, but I’m not sure how interesting that would be.
What do you guys think I should do? Should I try out some video stuff? At least experiment with it?
Leave your opinions in the comments area.
I couldn’t help but think how much of an idiot this guy was for doing what he did at the end of the video… TURN THE FRICKIN’ LAMP OFF BEFORE YOU GO FOR THE PEN!
See for yourself.
