…Version 2.0?

December 27, 2007 at 8:30 am (BlogCast, Personal Life, Podcast, SchizoPunkGeek.tv, Updates)

Hey what’s up everybody. I am very sorry I didn’t really get to follow through with really anything I said I was going to with updating and everything. Between my job constantly needing me because they’re so desperate and school and life in general… its been a complete mess. I am now in the process of trying to find a new job as I speak… shhh! Don’t tell!

Anyways, I have some pretty awesome stuff planned for the new year. I’m calling it version 2.0. Let’s face it… version 1.0 pretty much sucked… I’ll admit that myself. I never updated or anything. It was pretty much worthless because no one ever knew when to check up on my blog. Am I right?

So here’s what I’m gonna be trying to do. Sooner or later I want to get a live camera going for you guys, which will be something I like to call… SchizoPunkGeek.tv, but here’s the problem… COMCAST! I have tried this type of thing before on Justin.tv and they have throttled my bandwidth like cRaZy! I have perfect download speeds… but when it comes to uploading (or in this case, streaming), I just can’t do it. I have everyone complaining to me that its either slow as crap or just not working at all.

So now that we now that live broadcasting is TEMPORARILY out of the question, what else can I do? Well, before I got really sick over the summer and had to go to the hospital, I had a podcast I was doing. It was the “Almost There BlogCast”. I am most likely going to be trying to go back to making a podcast again. It will be me talking about some technology stories, what I’m liking on Digg, what’s going on in my life, some behind the scenes with my band, and whatever I feel like talking about at the time. I think it’ll be a lot of fun.

Now I’m gonna throw this one out there now and I’ll see if I have any takers on it. I am gonna open up to anyone who wants to be on the podcast with me. What I’d be doing is be recording it through Skype, so you’ll need a computer microphone to participate (preferably not a really bad quality one either). So if anyone is open to helping me out, just leave me a comment or something and we’ll figure something out.

So yeah, new year… new blog… new podcast. Hopefully it’ll be good this time. Version 2.0.

Alright, I’m gonna get going for now. Maybe I’ll try updating a little more before the new year to get a feel for it… I guess we’ll see, huh?

Until then… I’m out!

[Update] Save Your Ears. Stop Auto Playing.

November 23, 2007 at 2:30 am (Uncategorized)

Okay, just a quick update on my previous blog post entitled, “Save Your Ears. Stop Auto Playing.”

I would like you guys to know everything is still going well with the concept of everything, but I have a slight change now with my methods.

Here is what I have changed…

Instead of using the Firefox Extension, “Stop Autoplay (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1765)”, I have now switched over to “Flashblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433)”.

The main reason for this switch is because I took advantage of what “Stop Autoplay” did and took it to the extreme and now I have “Flashblock” blocking all the flash advertisements for me as well. All I have to do to activate anything flash on a website is simply click on it.

That’s all for this update, hope this helped.

Until then… I’m out!

Winter!

November 22, 2007 at 10:53 pm (Uncategorized)

I have finally updated my theme for a change! I was starting to get pretty sick and tired of the previous… dark & scary theme, so I decided to go with a more happy, wintery looking theme this time. I hope you guys like it!

Actually… what are your thoughts on it? That’s what comments are for!

I need your opinion.

November 18, 2007 at 12:22 am (Uncategorized)

Okay, maybe I’m just pulling this idea out of my butt, but I was brainstorming on ways to make a better blog and I was thinking about maybe having some video segments. Like… video blogging, but not, I guess. I mean, I could summarize my day or something in a video and post it here or something, but I’m not sure how interesting that would be.

What do you guys think I should do? Should I try out some video stuff? At least experiment with it?

Leave your opinions in the comments area.

I couldn’t help but think how much of an idiot this guy was for doing what he did at the end of the video… TURN THE FRICKIN’ LAMP OFF BEFORE YOU GO FOR THE PEN!

See for yourself.

Lack of posting… I know, excuses, excuses.

October 26, 2007 at 6:56 pm (Uncategorized)

Hey, its me again. Sorry I haven’t been posting in the last few days. Schedule’s been pretty busy. My sister, Melody, just flew in from Chicago on Thursday and the family is now going to North Carolina to visit my brother and my sister and law because on October 15, 2007, there has been a new addition to the Taylor family, Brady Andrew Taylor. We’re going out to visit the family for a few days to see.

Just a quick side not, which is quite interesting, at least I find it interesting. October 15th is a very common date now to us. Everything happens on the 15th… I mean everything…

October 15, 2004 – My sister and her now husband, Daniel, started dating.
October 15, 2004 – I met and started dating my girlfriend Brittany and we’re still dating (long story, but technically, we never broke up a while back.)
October 15, 2006 – My brother, Matt, and his girlfriend, Meghan started dating.
October 15, 2007 – My brother, Chris, and his wife had their second son, Brady Andrew Taylor.

Now I find that just pretty cool!

Anyways, I’m still on the road with the family. We’re almost to our destination for the night. I’m on my MacBook Pro, hooked up to a cigaret lighter for power, pretty cool stuff! I also have an external hard drive sitting under the seat hooked to my computer as well. Wow. I am way to tech-savy, aren’t I? Haha.

We’re staying with my sister-in-law’s parents for the night, then going to stay with my brother tomorrow morning.

By the way, I will also be receiving Mac OS X Leopard tomorrow too! Its sitting at my brother’s house just waiting for me with my name on it! I can’t wait!

Anyways, I’m off for the night. Not sure when I can get this actually posted cause right now there’s no WiFi, so it may be a tad late, but I think you guys can deal.

Alright, later everyone!

October 23, 2007 at 10:04 pm (Uncategorized)

-Apple.com News

Hard to believe that exactly 6 years ago to this day the very first iPod was introduced.

The iPod has turned out to be such an increadible device over the years. It has gone from being practically a brick to one of the slimmest devices out there to this day… and getting slimmer. It’s absolutely amazing.

Check out this article from Digg as well as the original page from Apple to see what Apple.com looked like on that very day, October 23, 2001.

Digg Story

Save Your Ears. Stop Auto Playing.

October 23, 2007 at 6:27 pm (Uncategorized) (, )

I don’t know what bugs be more, having to take a reaaaaallly bad crap while on a huge road trip with no bathroom in sight or having websites start auto playing out of nowhere when you least expect it and that crap that you had in you… is all over the place. Yeah, bad analogy, huh? Well, anyways… you get the point. Auto playing websites are pretty annoying.

We all deal with them… MySpace…YouTube…just about anywhere there’s a flash widget… you just wanna calmly browse around and look at the pretty little pages, and BOOM! You didn’t notice your speakers were on full blast… ouch!

The one thing I bet you didn’t know is that you can stop all that auto playing crap with just a few easy steps… got your attention?

*NOW FOR JUST A SMALL PRICE OF $99999 YOU CAN DO THIS!*

Pff… umm, no.. just install the wonderful browser commonly known as, Mozilla Firefox.

Here’s the simple steps. Follow them and you’ll be well on your way to a better life without those annoying auto playing sites just bugging the living crap out of you.

Step 1.
-Head on over to www.getfirefox.com and grab the latest version of the browser

Step 2
-Install the browser

Step 3.
-After doing anything the browser may ask you, head over to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1765 and install it

After you restart your browser, you should be good to go.

I hope this tip this was helpful. If it was, please tell me in the comments section, I’d be more than happy to hear from you guys out there.

Until next time…I’m out.
