Lack of posting… I know, excuses, excuses.
Hey, its me again. Sorry I haven’t been posting in the last few days. Schedule’s been pretty busy. My sister, Melody, just flew in from Chicago on Thursday and the family is now going to North Carolina to visit my brother and my sister and law because on October 15, 2007, there has been a new addition to the Taylor family, Brady Andrew Taylor. We’re going out to visit the family for a few days to see.
Just a quick side not, which is quite interesting, at least I find it interesting. October 15th is a very common date now to us. Everything happens on the 15th… I mean everything…
October 15, 2004 – My sister and her now husband, Daniel, started dating.
October 15, 2004 – I met and started dating my girlfriend Brittany and we’re still dating (long story, but technically, we never broke up a while back.)
October 15, 2006 – My brother, Matt, and his girlfriend, Meghan started dating.
October 15, 2007 – My brother, Chris, and his wife had their second son, Brady Andrew Taylor.
Now I find that just pretty cool!
Anyways, I’m still on the road with the family. We’re almost to our destination for the night. I’m on my MacBook Pro, hooked up to a cigaret lighter for power, pretty cool stuff! I also have an external hard drive sitting under the seat hooked to my computer as well. Wow. I am way to tech-savy, aren’t I? Haha.
We’re staying with my sister-in-law’s parents for the night, then going to stay with my brother tomorrow morning.
By the way, I will also be receiving Mac OS X Leopard tomorrow too! Its sitting at my brother’s house just waiting for me with my name on it! I can’t wait!
Anyways, I’m off for the night. Not sure when I can get this actually posted cause right now there’s no WiFi, so it may be a tad late, but I think you guys can deal.
Alright, later everyone!

Hard to believe that exactly 6 years ago to this day the very first iPod was introduced.
The iPod has turned out to be such an increadible device over the years. It has gone from being practically a brick to one of the slimmest devices out there to this day… and getting slimmer. It’s absolutely amazing.
Check out this article from Digg as well as the original page from Apple to see what Apple.com looked like on that very day, October 23, 2001.

Save Your Ears. Stop Auto Playing.
I don’t know what bugs be more, having to take a reaaaaallly bad crap while on a huge road trip with no bathroom in sight or having websites start auto playing out of nowhere when you least expect it and that crap that you had in you… is all over the place. Yeah, bad analogy, huh? Well, anyways… you get the point. Auto playing websites are pretty annoying.
We all deal with them… MySpace…YouTube…just about anywhere there’s a flash widget… you just wanna calmly browse around and look at the pretty little pages, and BOOM! You didn’t notice your speakers were on full blast… ouch!
The one thing I bet you didn’t know is that you can stop all that auto playing crap with just a few easy steps… got your attention?
*NOW FOR JUST A SMALL PRICE OF $99999 YOU CAN DO THIS!*
Pff… umm, no.. just install the wonderful browser commonly known as, Mozilla Firefox.

-Head on over to www.getfirefox.com and grab the latest version of the browser
Step 2

Step 3.
-After doing anything the browser may ask you, head over to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1765 and install it
After you restart your browser, you should be good to go.
I hope this tip this was helpful. If it was, please tell me in the comments section, I’d be more than happy to hear from you guys out there.

What’s the world doing these days?
Now for the first tech topic on my blog… enjoy!
Have you ever wanted to see what other people around the world are doing? Well, with a little Web 2.0 app known as Twitter, you can do just that! Twitter is based off of the whole concept of the question, “What are you doing?”. I find myself using Twitter every single day, it’s a great way to keep in touch with people and let them know what you are doing. In fact, as I am typing this, I just updated my Twitter feed… “Writing in my blog… actually, I’m doing a post about Twitter
“.
I guess you could kinda say Twitter is like an away message on steroids in a sense, you can update it from the web, from your cell phone, your instant messenger client… the possibilities are endless. It’s great!
A lot of people look at Twitter once and think, “Pff… that’s stupid, I don’t even get the point of that…”, but once you’re in ‘Twitter-Land’, I have a feeling you’ll love it.
Feel free to check out my Twitter page and see what I’m up to, and even make your own Twitter account and start following me.
Tell me what you guys think of this post and if you have any comments or questions… leave them in the comments section. I’d be more than happy to hear from you!
New “Angels & Airwaves” song released!

Prepare Your Mac for Leopard
I was browsing through my RSS feed and came across this great artical about how to prepare your Mac for the brand new operating system we like to call, Leopard.
Prepare Your Mac for Leopard
Macworld says there are a few things you can do to clean up and prepare your Mac before you take the leap to OS X 10.5 Leopard. Install the latest versions of your current applications (many are rolling out Leopard updates), clean up your hard drive, uninstall unneeded software, run the Apple hardware test and repair your hard drive using Disk Utility. The list of file and folder deletion candidates is especially impressive. First there are the usual culprits like Documents and Applications, but to dig deeper and rid yourself of cruft, look in:
- In /Library, /Library/Application Support, ~/Library, and ~/Library/Application Support, look for folder names matching applications you no longer use, and delete them.
- Your /Library and ~/Library folders may contain other folders that store components of third-party utilities. Look in Application Enhancers, Bundles, Contextual Menu Items, InputManagers, and PreferencePanes for any system enhancements you no longer use, and drag them to the Trash.
- Third-party Dashboard widgets live in ~/Library/Widgets. Any widgets you don’t use can go.
- Applications use cache files to increase their speed and efficiency, and rebuild them automatically if necessary, so you can delete them safely:
- The contents of /Library/Caches and ~/Library/Caches, can sometimes occupy hundreds of megabytes of valuable disk space. Drag these files to the Trash.
- You can empty Safari’s cache by choosing Safari -> Empty Cache (Command-Option-E).
- Safari stores favicons (those tiny icons that appear next to a site’s URL in the address bar) separately from its main cache. To remove them, quit Safari and drag the folder ~/Library/Safari/Icons to the Trash.
- Software that requires some component to be running in the background all the time may install folders in /Library/StartupItems. In most cases, you should leave this folder alone, but if you see anything there from software you’re sure you don’t use, delete it.
Don’t forget you can also use the free DiskInventoryX to ID what’s hogging your Mac’s hard drive. As for the Leopard upgrade, personally, I plan to do a clean sweep of my Mac and just reinstall my apps entirely. It’ll be a good cleanup as well as upgrade, and as a Windows user, the idea of a clean install will make me sleep easier.

One more thing.
I forgot to mention one thing in my last post, sorry, my bad.
I used to have a blog before and the reason I stopped posting was because no one would ever comment on anything I would say, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE… leave me your comments. Tell me your views… they matter just as much as mine do.
Thank you for your time.

Welcome to my world. Enjoy your stay.
Hey there! Yeah, I’m talking to you… the one that’s reading this text right this very second… don’t think I can really see you, do ya?… Think again…. you have 2 eyes… possibly a nose as well… maybe even a mouth…. I can’t really tell about the hair part, its kinda blurry.
Scared? Yeah, you should be… just when you thought you were safe, huh?
Okay, maybe you are safe… at least with me you are… maybe not out in this creepy thing they call the world, but that’s a completely different story altogether. Anyways, what’s up? My name is Josh Taylor, I’m 16 from the ever so sucky state of Pennsylvania. Now, I know your first question, “What part of Pennsylvania are you from?”, well its Central Pennsylvania… near Harrisburg to be more specific.
I am a mix between a punk rocker and a geek at the same time. Yeah, I know, its a pretty creepy mix, but you’ll get used to it. Its actually pretty nice. And now to save myself a ton of time, I will now list some facts about myself in bullet form.
-My all-time favorite band is blink-182
-Tom DeLonge is my biggest role model…EVER
-Microsoft sucks… Apple is amazing… simple as that
-I am an AppleFan Boy
-I own a MacBook Pro 2.2 ghz and it is freakin’ insane!
-I own an 80gb iPod Classic and I love it!
-I play guitar and vocals in a band called Almost There
-www.AlmostThereMusic.com
…more if I think of it.
Anyways, I think that about does it for my first post. I will probably just post about what’s going on in my life, like my band and my views on technology and stuff like that, we’ll see how it goes.
Until then… I’m out.
-Josh Taylor
